We provide eye tests for adults and children, and some people may be eligible for free eye tests. Read below to find out more.

Price of an eye test
The price of a standard, private eye test at Prospecs is £30.
Certain groups of people – including children under 16, students and over 60s – may be eligible for a free NHS eye test.

How often should I get my eyes tested?
The NHS recommends that you should get your eyes tested at least once every two years and more often if advised by your ophthalmic practitioner or optometrist.
How often can I claim an NHS-funded eye test?
If you're under 16, or over 70 years of age, you're entitled to a free eye test every year. If you're 16 to 69, you can get a free NHS eye test every two years. Also, if there are any changes to your prescription or health, you may be entitled to more regular eye tests as recommended by your optician.
How do I claim my free NHS eye test?
When you come for your eye-test someone will go through the relevant NHS forms with you so that you can claim your free eye test.
